Allen Melcer & Gloria Charland Join Lake County Lake Lovers Board of Directors for Three-Year Terms
Lake County Lake Lovers is thrilled to announce that Allen Melcer and Gloria Charland have accepted the opportunity to serve as Directors
Allen Melcer is a geologist who recently retired after working for 35 years at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. While at EPA, Allen worked in several environmental programs, including underground injection control, development of water quality standards, water discharge permitting, and watershed assessment and management planning. He later managed EPA's property redevelopment program (Brownfields) and contaminated site investigations and clean ups. Allen will be serving the Board as Secretary and replaces Paul Spiewak.
Gloria Charland is an educator, collaborator and outdoor enthusiast. She serves as National Chair of Sierra Club Toxics Team and Harmful Algal Blooms Subteam. She is an avid learner and enjoys not only creating conferences and learning opportunities but attends many related to the environment and watersheds as well. Instead of gambling, Gloria prefers grant writing and her track record of success is impressive!
Welcome to the Lake County Lake Lovers Board! Thanks for your ideas and passions to lead Lake Lovers as we support volunteers to help improve the health of Lake County’s lakes!
Lake County Lake Lovers Board also includes Bill Cotey, Treasurer and Becky Sawle, President. Paul Spiewak will continue to serve as Water Quality Lead on the Steering Committee.
